In Queensland, buyers have 5 business days to cool off after signing a contract of sale for residential property. If you terminate during this period, you forfeit 0.25% of the purchase price to the seller. Cooling-off does not apply to auction purchases or if you waive your rights via a Section 31C certificate signed by your solicitor. Always get legal advice before signing.
